When Time Is of the Essence: Why EMDR Intensives Can Accelerate Your Healing Journey
Have you been suffering for far too long and struggling to get what you need out of the typical therapy model?
You’ve come to the right place!
One of the questions I hear often when talking to a new client is: “Is weekly therapy really my only option to heal?”
For some people, the traditional 50-minute therapy model works beautifully. But for many others—especially those carrying complex trauma or long-standing patterns that affect relationships, parenting, self-esteem and daily life—it can feel like progress comes slowly. We spend part of each session checking in, talking through the week’s triggers, and making sure you leave a little better than you came in. Important work, yes—but it doesn’t always leave much room to go deeper. Or perhaps, you have had the space to go deeper and have been in weekly therapy for years and are tired of the slow pace of change and ready to kick start the pace.
That’s where EMDR Intensives come in.
What Makes Intensives Different?
An EMDR Intensive is exactly what it sounds like: extended therapy sessions (usually 3–5 hours at a time, over one or more days) designed to help you move through trauma processing more quickly and effectively. Instead of stretching out the work week after week, we create a focused space where your brain has the time it needs to dive in, reprocess the past and begin to craft new possibilities for the present and future.
Why Clients Choose EMDR Intensives
Quicker Results
Without the stop-and-start rhythm of weekly therapy, we can stay with the process longer. This allows us to reach the root of painful patterns more quickly, often leading to breakthroughs in a matter of days rather than months.Cost-Effective Over Time
While the upfront investment is larger, many clients find they actually save money because they need fewer total sessions. In other words—you may get more healing with less overall time in therapy with less money out-of-pocket.Focused Healing Without the Gaps
Weekly sessions often require catching up on life events and easing out before time is up. In intensives, we use the full session for reprocessing, which makes the work more fluid and powerful.Works With Busy Lives
If you’re balancing career, family, or other responsibilities, weekly therapy may not feel realistic. Intensives allow you to dedicate concentrated time to yourself without committing to a year of weekly sessions.Deeper Transformation
Extended time together creates the opportunity to move beyond surface-level coping and address the underlying trauma and attachment wounds that drive present-day struggles. That’s where lasting change happens.Practical Changes to your Presenting Issues
Traditional EMDR therapy often necessitates working on the past in order to create change in the present and future. In EMDR Intensives we have the space to also prioritize the issues that brought you into therapy in the first place- your current stressors and how to deal with them more effectively today and going forward.
My Commitment to This Work
For more than two decades, I’ve had the honor of walking alongside clients on their healing journeys. Over the years, I’ve seen how trauma and attachment wounds can shape lives—and how powerful EMDR can be in helping people find freedom and relief. That’s why I’ve chosen to specialize in EMDR therapy and dedicate my professional career to it. I’ve taken countless trainings, hold many accreditations and professional certifications in EMDR therapy and continue to stay engaged in Consultation with Masters in the field. Meaning, working with me means I take your healing seriously and have the learning and experience to back it up!
I believe in EMDR Intensives because I’ve witnessed, time and time again, how this focused approach allows clients to access deep healing that might otherwise take months—or even years—of weekly therapy. My role is to create a safe, supportive space where you can do this life-changing work and leave with a greater sense of calm, clarity, and strength today.
Is It Right for You?
EMDR Intensives are particularly effective for those who have experienced complex trauma or attachment wounds and feel their past is still shaping their present.
