EMDR
Intensives
Accelerated healing through EMDR Intensive Therapy sessions designed to bring you quick and lasting healing, so you can get on with living!
Feel like you’ve been in therapy forever? Don’t have the time to commit to weekly sessions? Tired of feeling stuck? Ready for change now?
EMDR Intensives might be for you!
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Intensive Therapy is a focused, accelerated approach to healing that condenses months of therapy into a few powerful sessions. Designed to help you process trauma, anxiety, grief, or other distressing experiences in a safe and structured environment, EMDR intensives allow for longer, uninterrupted EMDR sessions over the course of several days or a week. This format supports deeper emotional processing, reduces the time spent in ongoing weekly therapy, and is especially beneficial for those who want faster results or have demanding schedules. Whether you’re working through a specific event or looking for a breakthrough in ongoing patterns, EMDR intensives offer a concentrated path to relief and lasting change.
Why Choose an EMDR Intensive Instead of Traditional Weekly Therapy?
Faster, Deeper Results
Extended sessions allow us to go beyond surface-level work and reach the root of the issue more quickly.More Cost-Effective Over Time
Although the upfront investment may be higher, EMDR intensives often reduce the overall number of sessions needed—saving you time and money in the long run.Minimizes Disruption Between Sessions
Without the weekly gap, there’s no “start-stop” effect—momentum is maintained for more effective processing and lasting change.Time Spent On Getting You To Your Goals
Traditional therapy often includes time for catching up, managing weekly triggers, and emotional regulation at the end of each session. Intensives focus directly on healing work.Regulation Support Built In
With more time together, there’s space for emotional processing and grounding—no need to wrap up quickly or leave mid-process.Ideal for Busy Lives
Skip the long-term scheduling commitment of weekly therapy and make meaningful progress in a shorter, focused window.Perfect for Stuck Patterns
If you feel blocked in traditional therapy or ready for a breakthrough, intensives provide a powerful container for transformation.

The Format:
Week long Options: Half Day (3hr) or Full Day (5hr): This option is ideal for those who are ready to get moving, primed for change and can commit a week of time to their healing journey. Clients can choose from a 2, 3 or 4 day approach.
Ongoing 2-3hr sessions: For those who want extended time in weekly or biweekly sessions with less frequent visits. Ideal for those who live in Arizona, who prefer a more established relationship with their therapist and are also ready to say goodbye to the out-dated 1hr weekly session model of therapy.

EMDR therapy is highly effective for individuals who have experienced trauma—whether it's a single distressing event or ongoing, complex challenges. It's been proven to be highly effective in the treatment of PTSD, complex trauma and attachment wounds that show up in present-day struggles—like relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, work-place anxiety, or low self-worth.
EMDR can also help those who feel “stuck,” emotionally overwhelmed, or triggered by past experiences that continue to affect their present life. This therapy is not just for those with a formal diagnosis—it’s for anyone seeking to process difficult memories, break harmful patterns, and experience emotional relief.

If we decide to work together after our consultation call, we will first meet for a 90 minute History Taking and Treatment Planning Session. This will include creating a mutual understanding of the issues you are wanting to address and where they are steaming from. From here, we will decide together how to target and treat these issues from a past, present and future lens.
You can choose from a Half Day Option (3hr session) at a 2, 3, or 4 day approach. Or a Full Day Option (5hrs session + 1 hr lunch break) at a 2, 3 or 4 day approach. Think of this as getting 6 months-2 years of targeted psychotherapy all in one week.
These sessions will include the 8 phase approach of EMDR Therapy, customized to your unique treatment goals and presenting problems. We will work together to get you to our goals at the end of our work together.

I am happy to discuss with you the best format for your needs, given your progress in therapy so far, your presenting issues and the goals you are looking to meet. Schedule a consultation so we can talk about the best option for you.

EMDR Therapy is widely taught all over the world with many clinicians taking the Basic Training and stoping there. I consider EMDR to be an art form that I have studied and committed my professional career to. With me, you won’t get clunky, drawn out, EMDR with little purpose. You will get focused, relational and relief driven EMDR that is highly effective and transformative. The theory of EMDR is based on our brain’s innate ability to bring healing and resolution. We just have to give it the right conditions to do so.

Nope! That’s another great advantage. Clients must be in the state during the time of their treatment, but do not have to be residents. This allows for out-of-state clients who do not have access to highly skilled EMDR clinicians to travel to AZ for a short time to get what might take them 6-12 months or more to achieve in their state of residence. Think of it like a mental-health retreat.
For those that live in AZ, I highly recommend coming to my office so we can share in the space while we travel this journey together.

Not at this time. Maraeca Butler is the only one offering this service due to her extensive training in EMDR Psychotherapy. We have several other clinicians at the practice who offer ongoing traditional EMDR Therapy.
-
Most clients find long-lasting relief and resolution of their presenting problems in that they no longer need ongoing therapy. Some clients, however many benefit from ongoing support from a therapist post Intensives. We can talk about what would be the best option for you.
